Mexicayotl Study & Community Bridge Work
A living philosophy rooted in reciprocity, balance, and right relationship — reconnecting to the ancestral wisdom of the Nahua peoples to heal ourselves and our communities today.
What is Mexicayotl?
Mexicayotl — loosely translated as “the essence of the Mexica way” — is the living cosmology and philosophy of the Nahua peoples, often referred to as the Aztec tradition. It is not a relic of the past; it is a breathing, evolving path of remembrance that many indigenous and mestizo communities continue to practice and transmit today.
At its heart, Mexicayotl is a framework for living in right relationship — with oneself, with family and community, with the earth, and with the cosmos. It is guided by concepts such as In Lak’ech (I am another you), Nepantla (the in-between space of transformation), and the sacred calendar of the Tonalpohualli.
Community Bridge Work
Bridge work is the practice of bringing ancestral wisdom into present-day healing — especially for those who have been disconnected from their roots through colonization, migration, or assimilation. It is work that honors both the wound and the medicine.
Through study circles, community gatherings, ceremony, and dialogue, we create space for people of all backgrounds to engage with these teachings respectfully and meaningfully.
- Study of the Nahua cosmology and sacred calendar
- Ancestral healing and lineage reconnection
- Community circles and talking circles
- Ceremony rooted in Nahua tradition
- Decolonization of mind, body, and spirit
- Cross-cultural bridge building and dialogue
